About me
My name is Jacqueline Contreras, but people call me Jacky because that’s the name I prefer and I would love it if people would spell it correctly. I am currently a Senior in Sport and Medical Sciences Academy or SMSA for short. Throughout my 7 years in SMSA, there were only two things that I would enjoy doing. Reading and drawing those two things became apart of me during my time here. They’ve stuck with me throughout my years and they’ve been a part of my work if I was ever given the chance. Which brings me to my Capstone project. My Capstone project is a club in the school that gathers the kids who enjoy to write, read, or draw and give them a place to let out their creativity.

Mission Statement
My mission is to inspire others to keep drawing or at least give them the push they need to continue. I hope to achieve my goal of becoming an art teacher so that I can inspire children, even if it’s just one. I hope to build trust and a bond with my future students so that I can point them in the right direction as some teachers have done for me. I’ve been told that I can be pretty brutal when it comes to stating my honest opinion, some people think it’s rude while others appreciate how straightforward I can be and I plan on making that one of my strengths for my future teaching career.
